Ok so I just finished up Alex Goad’s new course – Google Payload. And I must say that I did enjoy the read. Not immensely enjoyed, but it was still a good read. I think that the book definitely takes use of some old tactics and adds a fresh spin. The concept of arbitrage through pay per click marketing the some of us have been doing for quite a while. Alex does a better job here with this book than I felt a few other authors have in describing the process of adwords, PPC and what conversion is.
If you don’t know what arbitrage is it is basically when you take low cost keywords or phrases and then you attempt to convert that cheap traffic into cold hard cash, well almost as good dollars into your google adsense account.
If you don’t really understand PPC or internet marketing so well you can still understand this course. I like that Alex lays the information out in such an easy to understand format. Literally the book will take you a short time to power through. The main content is only 70 pages although I went back and spent a little time on chapter 4 that is entitled “putting it all together”.
I think that overall that there are a few concerns that I will address with the book. First of all I will give a short list of who I feel will do well with this book. Then you can decide for yourself what category you fit into.
Do not buy this book if:
1.) You are not self-motivated.
2.) You don’t have the money to spare.
3.) If you are trying to promote your own product.
Do buy this book if:
1.) You are interested in a side-business that has long term growth potential.
2.) If you have 5-10 Hours per week to invest in Alex’s Step by Step Plan.
3.) Want to know more about marketing techniques via PPC.
Here is a tip that helped me when I was first getting started. Don’t worry about how much money you made today, or even in the first month, just take in what you can, learn what you can, and find out how to improve your processes for tomorrow. Constant change and adaptation is what it takes in the internet marketing arena. Those who cannot adapt will not succeed.
